Loni Fagel, MA, MEd, LPCC, EMDR Certified Therapist (EMDRIA) is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor; located at the Golden Valley Office.  She is a Certified EMDR therapist (EMDRIA) and EMDR Consultant in Training, and is currently working towards becoming a Registered Expressive Arts Therapist (REAT) through the Center for Creative Art Therapy.  Loni primarily works with individuals from a person centered, holistic, biopsychosocial-spiritual approach and brings a positive and nurturing perspective to her work.  She utilizes humanistic, existential, psychodynamics, and Jungian philosophies and includes EMDR, sand tray, and expressive arts therapy approaches with her clients.  She is dedicated to fostering a safe, inclusive environment and works with each individual to develop customized plans to improve their quality of life.  Loni specializes in working with individuals ages 15 and older experiencing grief and loss, chronic illness and medical issues including cancer, trauma and stress related issues, anxiety, depression, performance anxiety, relationship conflicts, and spiritual and identity concerns.

Loni has a Master's Degree in Counseling and Psychology from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota, a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education from DePaul University in Chicago, as well as an undergraduate degree in Television Writing and Producing from Columbia College Chicago.  She has a vast knowledge and understanding of Jewish culture and strives to be culturally-sensitive and culturally-aware of all cultures and identities, and provides training and continuing education on antisemitism, historical and intergenerational trauma to other clinicians.  Outside of the office, Loni enjoys downhill skiing, yoga, painting, and creating mixed media art, traveling, and spending time with her Mini-Bernedoodle Lucy Von Doggins.

Loni offers 3 hour and multi-day therapy in-person intensives, which offer relief and healing in days, not years as required by one-hour weekly in-person or online therapy sessions.  Intensives can be an extremely powerful intervention when individuals are distressed in order to change the momentum and allow clients to get back on track.  *Please note intensives are not covered by insurance companies*
