William Lamers, MA, LAMFT joined the clinic in 2022 and is located at the White Bear Lake-Banning office.  William is a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, working on his licensure hours for Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT) under the supervision of Jesse Kardong, MA, LMFT.  William offers counseling services for individuals (ages 10+), couples, and families.

In order to best match clients' individual needs, William utilizes techniques from various schools of therapy.  William believes in unconditional positive regard, which involves meeting clients where they are at in their healing process, and seeing them as the experts of the situations in their own lives.  William helps clients focus on the specific details and aspects that either foster or prevent positive change.

With couples, William utilizes a non-judgmental approach while listening to each partner's perspectives.  William incorporates a client-centered approach that allows him to openly hear each partner's perspectives.  William helps clients identify any factors that may be contributing to a rift in their relationship, that may leave them feeling "stuck" in a continuous pattern.  William will then collaborate with each partner to identify possible solutions to mend the rift and return to a feeling of forward movement for the relationship.  William takes into account any and all factors that impact relational functioning, which could include dynamics from family-of-origin, communication patterns, love languages, attachment styles, and emotionally-focused messaging between partners.

William specializes in addressing depression, anxiety, adolescent issues, life transitions, general stress management, divorce, as well as any relational issues couples or families may be experiencing.  William has also received training and additional education on EFT Tapping, OCD symptoms, multicultural counseling, and religious trauma.

William graduated from the Adler Graduate School with a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.  William received his Bachelors Degree at St. Thomas University in 2018 with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice.

In his free time, William enjoys spending time with his fiancée, which usually involves going out for dinner and a movie, traveling, seeing a concert, or going on walks when the weather is nice! William also enjoys hobbies including engaging in either sports or something with music.

William offers in office and telehealth video sessions for new clients.

William currently has openings for new clients.
