Becca Manthe, BA, Clinical Intern,  joined the clinic in 2022 and is located at the Golden Valley office.  Becca is currently pursuing her Master's Degree in Marriage, Couples, and Family Counseling and Art Therapy at the Adler Graduate School in Minnetonka, MN.  Becca is working under the supervision of Jesse Kardong, MA, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.  Becca offers counseling services for couples and families, individual adults, children ages 8 and older, and adolescents.

Becca specializes in integrating nature-based art therapy into her therapeutic work with clients.  Art therapy provides alternate modes of communication for individuals, groups, couples and families to explore their challenges and support a return to emotional and psychological balance.  The body-based experience of communicating with art materials is a present moment activity that brings insights that may otherwise be inaccessible.  This way of entering internal or external awareness and conflict resolution favors creativity, global thinking, and integration of the mind-body-spirit connection.  As a nature-based practitioner, the Earth is the therapeutic holding space, and nature is the co-therapist.  Becca works with clients outdoors for those who are interested  and brings natural materials into the office alongside traditional art supplies to enhance and facilitate the verbal processing in therapy sessions.  Becca has a special interest in working with people sensitive to climate change issues and believes that systems naturally rebalance with adequate support.  Becca also specializes in holistic, strengths-based treatment for relationship issues, family dynamics, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, life transitions, conflict resolution, self-compassion, trauma, stress management, and codependency.

Becca values principles such as mutual respect, consensus, peaceful conflict resolution, and collaboration.  She practices Mindful Self Compassion and Nonviolent Communication in sessions with clients and integrates polyvagal theory to build self-regulation skills, address trauma symptoms, and deepen the impact of healing.

Becca graduated from the Milwaukee Institute of Art Design in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Industrial Design.  Additionally, Becca is a professional musician, currently has a Buddhist spiritual practice, and deeply understands Christianity.

Becca is offering in office, outdoor and telehealth video sessions for new clients.

Becca currently has openings for new clients.
