Serene works with individuals, families and communities.  She embraces a whole system approach to care and integrates energy modalities into her work.  Her work is eclectic and rooted in indigenous values-she sees all in relationship to everything; her work is rooted in connection, trust, balance and trauma informed approaches to care.  She believes that healing occurs from within the person, family and/or community and the interconnection of all.  She has a background in yogic principles, plant medicine and dance/movement work.  Serene has completed five levels of training for Healing Touch and plans to submit for certification within the year.  She recently completed Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Training in the summer of 2023 and has been applying the EMDR technique to her work.

Serene has a Bachelor's of Arts in English with a concentration in writing from St. Catherine University; she is passionate about the arts and the power of story to heal.  She has a long history of service to the community in care fields, health education, and advocacy and has served White Earth Nation and the Little Earth community as a community advocate (SA & DV trained) and has worked with at risk families for a number of years as a Family Spirit Health Educator most recently at the Division of Indian Work.

Serene is a Circle Keeper for community Peacemaking sessions and is actively involved in restorative justice practice, specifically for youth that have had low level convictions.  Serene recognizes levels of systemic oppression in her work and is actively working to reduce the impact of these levels of trauma.

Serene currently is open for new clients.
