Jesse Kardong, MA, LMFT, Board Approved Supervisor joined the clinic in 2019 and is located at the White Bear Lake office. Jesse works with clients over the age of six years, and has experience treating anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, childhood/parenting concerns, and family issues. He particularly specializes in therapy for adolescents and couples. His approach to therapy is eclectic and draws ideas from Rogerian person-centered therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, structural family therapy, and Gottman couples therapy. Jesse's goal is to provide a safe space in which people feel "heard" and can openly explore their own thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and personal strengths. They can then use these resources to determine practical solutions and coping strategies that work best for them. Every person's needs are unique; Jesse's goal is to "meet people where they are" and offer support, feedback, and, most importantly, a listening ear.
Jesse has over twenty years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families. He was a licensed secondary school teacher for a decade before returning to school to begin a second career as Marriage and Family Therapist. He earned a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling Psychology and a Certificate in Family Psychology from the University of Saint Thomas in 2009, and has since provided therapy services in outpatient, in-home, school-based, and residential settings. He has been approved to provide clinical supervision by the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, the Minnesota Board of Marriage and Family Therapy, and the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy.
Jesse currently has limited availability for new clients.
